Has anyone seen the preview for the Prince of Persia movie? It's been playing with a bunch of different movies and played again during the Super Bowl, so chances are you have.
It looks like it could be one of the worst movies of all time. In fact, I'm going to go ahead and officially qualify it for so bad it's good territory. It is absolutely terrible in every conceivable way. From the casting to the special effects to the dialogue to the classic Jerry Bruckheimer over-the-topness of it all. That's some truly terrible movie gumbo, you've got in the making.
It seems like it's the Snakes on a Plane of this year. And by that I mean so cliche and implausible and ridiculous that you can't help, but laugh through the entire thing.
And to top it all off ... Jake Gyllenhaal's accent. Holy shit, that is an epically bad accent. It's worse than Leonardo DiCaprio in The Departed. It's already earning its place in the bad movie accent hall of fame. And it's being made by Disney who famously do great PG-13 work ... oh wait ....
It's a shame because the Prince of Persia is a pretty sweet game. And it has a fun story. At least the movie should be a barrel of laughs.

Personally, I think it will be the first video game movie not to shame most gamers. I'm excited for it. Don't be such a downer.

I would watch it but then I recall that Max Minghella won't be in it because he turned down offers, so... never mind.

I thought the previews were pretty damn decent. But I will save my scalding criticisms for the actual film. As long as I don't see any fucking kamehameha orbs and shit, I'll be alright.

The first Pirates of the Carribean was made by Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer and it definitely did not suck.
Frankly I think this movie looks pretty sweet.
i think it will be good. interesting to see that from these comments that there are more people who want to watch it because they get wet over jake than actual people who are interested in a movie remake of the game
trailer looks alright to me. probably just download it before it even hits theaters
I've played the entire trilogy and I actually think it's going to be good considering its a game to movie thing. It could be worse... like when they did Street Fighter or Mario.
