As most of us probably know by now, the N64 kid is somewhat of an internet phenomenon. The raw enthusiasm he displays when confronted with one of the most coveted gifts in gaming history reminds us all what it was like to be kids on Christmas.
More importantly, though, that same unhindered passion for a gaming system is so over the top that it practically begs to be parodied, or in this case, tampered with just a little bit to make things a little more fun. You'll see why:
The Metal Remix: Everything seems just a little bit more dire and apocolyptic when metal is involved, so why not Christmas morning?
Mortal Kombat Remix: Out of all the parodies and remixes of this video, I think this one might be the most appropriate, for two reasons. One, the music added actually comes from a video game, so thematically, it fits. Secondly, the music itself is pretty exciting, just like the rambunctious kids in the video. Plus, when he starts banging on the box it syncs up pretty well.
Super Slow-Mo: I don't think I've ever met anyone who didn't laugh when Will Ferrel shot himself with a tranquilizer gun in Old School. Watching people walk and talk in slow motion is, perhaps because of how strange it looks and sounds, just a really funny image. Beyond the humor here, though, it's also a little creepy - all the yelling makes the kid sound like a demon coming to claim souls. Well, if you like to be frightened, I suggest turning up your speakers for this one.
