  • The Mindset Of A Gamer

I just spent an hour or two on Addicting Games playing this game called Sushi Cat. It's really cute. :D

I do like playing various genres, but I'm not a total 100% gamer.  So what exactly is in my mind in gaming mode? Well, this is what goes through me:

    1. When I'm playing a game, do not disturb me. I will flinch and possibly lose my concentration. [And possibly get infuriated with the person who distracts me] It's not like it's a life or death thing, well kind of. But it means a lot just to get those points/scores/level. It's an achieving feeling.

    2. If I like the game. I get into the game. Moving around/randomly twitching while playing a game is absolutely normal. I know my body motions will not help me dodge the bullet; it's just a mental instinct. Who really wants to get shot anyway?

    3. Food is an option. Yes, it's bad to lose track of the time, but hey, the game's fun. I will sometimes take a break to snack on something. Only when I achieve what I want within the game. If it's an RPG, it'll be until I reach a certain level/point of satisfaction. But food isn't something that I think about when I get into a game.

    4. Depending on the game, I like to wear headphones to listen to the background song/s. Yes, sometimes if I play the game way too long, I get sick of the song. Though, if it's like stepmania/ffr/ddr, music is everything and so worth listening to. Don't yell at me through the headphones if it's something to say 'hey' about. I might not be too happy that I lost 10 arrows because that someone needed to tell me that they needed to potty...

    5. If I can't get into the game. I will find some other way to admire the game. I never quite got into Conquer Online, Ragnarok, Perfect World because it just seemed to complicated. I highly admire the art. As for Diablo II.. It's a paid game. It was a real pain for me since I was used to playing Runescape, where the items in the inventory did not have a certain space.

How do you act when you play a game?
